アメリカ・アーカンソー州でシートベルト着用義務が厳格化されるようです。


As the summer travel season begins, so does a two-week long enforcement effort by Arkansas State Police and other law enforcement officers who will be on the lookout for violators of the Arkansas primary seat belt and child passenger safety laws.


The program began Monday and will continue through June 1 with state and local law enforcement agencies in Arkansas will participate in a nationwide 'Click It or Ticket' mobilization.

"click or ticket"というタイトルが面白いので取り上げました。

"click"というと、コンピュータで使うマウスのクリックをすぐに思い浮かべますが、ここではシートベルトを締めるときのカチッというあの音を指しています。

"click or ticket"とは、（カチッと）シートベルトを締めるか、あるいは（シートベルトを締めるのを忘れて摘発されて）罰金を払うか、という意味です。

ハロウィーンの"trick or treat"をもじったのでしょうか？
