逝く！？ ― conk out

見慣れない単語です。辞書を引くと俗語とありますので、そうお目にかかることのない表現と思われます。

American Heritage Dictionaryによると、"Origin unknown."（語源不詳）ということです。

壊れる、故障する

といった意味の動詞なのですが、"out"という副詞を伴うことが多いようで、機械などが機能しなくなることを漠然と意味するものです。現代語的には、

逝く、逝ってしまう

とでも表現できるでしょうか？
